- Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF):
-
- Here are the Mean Time Between Failure calculations for SR17 (MKIII)
- 386, and SR20(SX-CACHE) motherboards.
-
- These figures were calculated using the following guide lines:
-
- 1. Calculated using TR-NWT-000332 Reliability Prediction by
- by Bellcore, Issue 3, Sept. 1990, 'Reliability Prediction Procedure
- for Electronic Equipment' a module of RQGR, TR-TSY-000796.
-
- 2. Assume a black box estimate with 50% stress, temperature=40
- degrees centigrade, no device burn-in.
-
-
- 3. Assumes quality level I:
-
- This level is assign to commercial-grade devices that are
- procured and used thorough device qualification, or
- lot-to-lot controls by equipment supplier.
- However:
-
- a: Steps must be taken to ensure that the conponents are
- are compatible with the design and manufacturing process.
-
- b. An effective feedback and corrective action program must be
- in place to identify and resolve problems quickly in
- manufacture and in the field.
